A growing AI start-up that focuses on solving increasing data challenges created by the continued growth of private markets, is looking to hire a PhD Data Scientist for its Paris office. You do not need experience, they are looking for smart PhD graduates who are looking to break into the applied AI space and would like to be exposed to the full life cycle of a data scientist (research and engineering).

The company was founded by an experienced team of financial software and capital markets professionals. They now have offices in London, New York, Toronto and Paris, and use a variety of machine learning techniques to automate the understanding of unstructured and semi-structured documents, simplifying the demanding workflows of private market participants such as institutional investors, funds and fund administrators.

Role

As PhD Data Scientist, your role in the company will be focused on research, development, production and engineering. You will contribute to one of the most ambitious technology projects in the fintech space today and join an amazing team of leaders and experts in a highly challenging and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities 

  • You will be working with senior data scientists and data scientists in building and deploying hybrid NLP/ML models (e.g. Chargrid, BERTGrid, CUTIE)
  • You will be defining data pipelines and developing containerised microservices for model development
  • Design accurate and flexible data extraction & processing algorithms from unstructured & semi-structured documents
  • Work with the engineering & product teams to bring commercial solutions for clients to productionise

Requirements

  • PhD degree in Machine Learning (NLP, Computer Vision or AI) or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering)
  • Python knowledge is essential
  • You have knowledge or interest in Natural Language Processing
