A global consultancy is looking for an Assistant Manager to join its growing macroeconomics and climate team. The firm has a well-established global economics advisory service, and this is an amazing opportunity to join one of the fastest growing areas of the business and indeed industry. 

The team sits within the Risk Consulting area of the business, working with clients across a dynamic range of industries services, and with huge recent growth, they are looking to continue expanding their climate economics team.

The role

As an assistant manager, your role will include the development and assessment of economic scenarios, testing regulatory exercises using both econometric and macroeconomic models, market sizing, elasticity analysis and economic strategy evaluation. 

You will be developing in-house econometric models (statistical and structural economic models), and tools for forecasting macroeconomic variables.  

You will also be responsible for drafting client reports and methodology papers and contributing to pitches and proposals.  

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 2.1 undergraduate degree in Economics, ideally coupled with a postgrad degree from a leading university 
  • Forecasting and collating economic data, and developing economic models as such DSGE models, Bayesian estimation, CGE and/or other statistical models 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex economics concepts to those without understanding and implementing methods in real world circumstances
  • Developing economic models and statistical models to suit the client’s needs
  • Adaptable to broad scope of work 
  • Ideally having worked for another macroeconomics team within another consultancy, Central Bank or Think Tank
