A leading and innovative company in the online entertainment industry, is expanding its data science team to meet the growing demand for advanced analytics services. They are currently seeking a Data Scientist to join their dynamic and forward-thinking organization.

As a Data Scientist, candidates will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and make a significant impact using their strong background in Python and SQL coding, as well as their expertise in statistical analysis and building machine learning models.

Responsibilities of the Data Scientist Role

  • Leading a team of talented data scientists
  • Building new models or enhancing existing ones to predict user patterns and optimize their experience
  • Establishing a system to monitor and evaluate model performance
  • Collaborating with data engineers to operationalize the models
  • Performing statistical analysis to uncover valuable insights and patterns
  • Engaging with product managers and senior stakeholders to drive innovation and shape new features
  • Translating business requirements into technical specifications, enabling effective collaboration across teams

Key Skills for Success as a Data Scientist

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, etc.)
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python (PyData stack), and/or R
  • Strong understanding of statistics and supervised learning algorithms
  • Track record of building predictive models using large datasets, including experience with unsupervised machine learning models
  • Knowledge of productionising models in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, etc.) is a significant advantage

Preferred Tech Stack

  • Analytics: Python (pandas, scikit-learn, pymc3, statsmodels, bokeh, mpl), SQL, Jupyter notebooks
  • Big Data: AWS Redshift, Apache Spark, S3
  • ETL: Python, SQL, Spark, Scala, MongoDB
  • Data visualization: D3.js, re:dash, Tableau, bokeh
