An international law firm is looking to strengthen its Labor and Employment team with the addition of an Associate to join its New York office.
The firm advises major corporations, financial institutions and emerging businesses on complex workplace and labour matters. Its lawyers are known for combining technical legal expertise with commercially pragmatic advice, supporting clients through regulatory challenges, disputes and evolving employment frameworks.
With an active and growing client base across multiple industries, the team works on a broad mix of advisory, litigation and labour relations matters in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Role
The successful candidate will join a dynamic Labor & Employment team advising employers on a wide range of workplace issues across both contentious and non-contentious matters.
The role offers exposure to sophisticated employment litigation, regulatory investigations and day-to-day employment counselling, while working closely with experienced partners and clients on complex workforce and labour relations challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise employers on a range of employment law matters including workplace policies, employee relations and regulatory compliance
- Support employment litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, managing discovery and preparing for depositions
- Assist with investigations and proceedings before employment-related agencies and regulators
- Provide guidance on issues such as discrimination, wage and hour compliance, leave policies and workplace disputes
- Contribute to labour relations matters including collective bargaining negotiations and arbitration processes
- Draft employment agreements, internal policies and workplace documentation
- Work closely with clients to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice
Key Skills
- Strong academic background in law with admission to practice in a relevant jurisdiction
- Experience working within a law firm environment on employment or labour law matters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear, persuasive legal analysis
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
- High level of attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining strong client relationships
