Our client is a is trusted authority within assurance and risk management, which is dedicated to protecting life, property, and the environment by delivering reliable insights. In the energy systems sector they support the shift to a decarbonised and sustainable future by ensuring safe, effective, and digital energy solutions.

Role

Due to continued growth, the client is now looking for an energy economist in Bonn, Germany. The wider team works on providing economic advice within the energy sector, by focusing on the energy transition and the impact of the switch to renewable energy resources. In this role, you will put you at the forefront of the global energy transition, collaborating on innovative, early-phase projects and deliver industry-defining results.

As an expert on wholesale and balancing markets, ancillary and system services, and demand-side flexibility within Europe, you will continue to grow your skills, while enhancing our reputation for quality, innovation, and integrity taking on high individual responsibility in a role you can actively shape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing strategic and analytical economic insights to clients on power and gas markets, including the assessment of energy sector investments and business models
  • Leading consulting projects from proposal development through to successful delivery.
  • Serving as a key expert for clients across the DACH region on wholesale energy markets, balancing and ancillary services, demand-side flexibility, and commercial due diligence
  • Driving the ongoing growth and enhancement of our service offerings by identifying market opportunities, securing new projects, and crafting compelling proposals

Requirements

  • MSc in Economics/Energy Economics/Engineering
  • Proven experience working in the German energy market
  • Experience in the regulatory space, specifically in market design, analysis, and assessment/valuation of energy sector investments
  • Comfortable leading and selling projects to existing and new clients
  • Fluent/native in German with excellent English
