Head of Economic Advisory

We’re working with an economics consultancy team looking to appoint a Head of Economic Advisory (Partner) in Tokyo, Japan. The firm already has a well-established world-wide economics brand, and this appointment in a new territory for them is part of furthering their global expansion plans. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and grow a team of economists and to manage projects in both the public and private sectors in Japan.

The wider team is comprised of economics and finance professionals, covering the Public, TMT, Transport, Infrastructure, Water, and Energy sectors, and is part of the firm’s global consulting network. It is an extremely dynamic practice area with a unique blend of skills in econometrics, policy evaluation, macroeconomic modelling, regulatory economics, and competition analysis. 

Required skills for Head of Economic Advisory: 

• c15+ years of experience within another economics consultancy firm or regulatory body, ideally in Japan, ideally within the microeconomics space
• A solid network of existing client relationships or a strong public presence to aid in growing the team
• Extensive hands-on and project/people management experience
• Native or fluency in Japanese
• Academic background in economics, ideally to postgrad level
