Macroeconomist (Asia focus)

A renowned independent macroeconomic research firm is seeking a talented and motivated Macroeconomist to join their team in Singapore. Role Overview

As a Macroeconomist with a focus on Asia, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis of macroeconomic trends and policies across the region. Your insights and recommendations will play a crucial role in guiding the organisation’s decision-making processes and strategic initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct rigorous research and analysis of macroeconomic indicators, monetary policy, fiscal policy, and financial markets in Asia
• Monitor and forecast key macroeconomic variables, such as GDP growth, inflation, exchange rates, and interest rates
• Provide insightful reports and presentations to internal stakeholders, including senior management and investment teams, to support informed decision-making
• Engage in client-facing activities, including presenting research findings and participating in client meetings and conferences
• Build and maintain relationships with external research organizations, government agencies, and industry experts to gather relevant data and insights

 Required Skills

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field with a strong focus on macroeconomics
• Proven experience in macroeconomic research and analysis, preferably with a focus on the Asian economy. 
• Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in econometric analysis and statistical software
• Excellent knowledge of macroeconomic theories, models, and methodologies. 
• Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in one or more Asian languages is highly desirable
