Principal Consultant – Antitrust & Competition

Are you a PhD economist based in the US and looking for your next opportunity?  

Chi Square Economics is working with a leading antitrust and competition economics consultancy, which is looking for a Principal Economist to join its growing team in Washington DC (although location is flexible). The team tackles a wide range of competition issues such as antitrust, the labor market (discrimination, wages, and HR) and damages. The wider company specialises in a range of microeconomic topics, and so there is scope to operate across teams as your experience grows.  

If you are currently based in the United States with experience in this field, this is an amazing opportunity to become a valid team member within a top economics consultancy.  

Key responsibilities 

• Conducting economic research (both quantitative and qualitative) and analysis on key economic issues
• Provide clients, lawyers, and experts with economic findings to testify
• Presenting results of analysis
• Supporting client needs through data visualisation

About you

To be eligible for this role, you must have:  

• 3+ years’ experience as an economist in a consultancy 
• MBA or Ph.D. in economics (related subjects such as competition economics, price theory and labor issues is a plus)
• Currently be in the US and have the right to work in the US
• Strong empirical skills and use of tools such as Tableau
• Excellent communication and ability to present results confidently to clients
